LO is 3 months and Ive read places that at 3 months you can change to a medium flow. I was wondering if I should or what are signs that she needs a faster flow.
I just waited for clues that she was ready. DD got fussy when trying to eat, acting like she was starving and couldn't get it fast enough. You could always try the next size up and if your LO takes to it fine then you could leave it and if not you know that your LO isn't ready to move up.
We switched when DD was taking forever to eat a bottle and only eats a couple ounces at a time and then taking breaks. It seemed like she was frustrated with it. We switched to level 2 right around 3 mo. We noticed the same signs around 7 mo and switched her to level 3.
We just tried switching Lily to medium flow and she took it for a few days just fine. Today she had a horrible time though. She kept choking on the formula like it was coming at her too fast so we went back to the slow and she was fine. I guess it's best to just try it and see.
I guess every LO is different, our DD switched last weekend (7 1/2 weeks) to level 2. She was getting fussy and taking a long time to eat her bottles because she was popping off and crying at us. When we put her back on she'd suck her little head off.
Now she's much better and happier, she "drools" a bit more (probably just a little too fast for her still) but all in all it was a positive change.
