Who's on Tylenol 3?

My doc gave me an Rx for Tylenol 3 today at my 33 week apt. It's for symphysis pubic dysfunction.

I'm nervous about taking them. I know anything with Tylenol is okay during pregnancy, I know my OB wouldn't give me anything dangerous during pregnancy, I'm just a little worried about the Codine.

I'm also kinda nervous because I've had an Rx for Tylenol 3 in the past and it made me kind of sick.

If you're on it, did you have any side effects (besides getting tired)?

i haven't been on it while pregnant, but was on it for about three weeks after a bad car accident a few years ago and it also made me a little sick to my stomach. it helped me to always take it after a meal & drink at least one full glass of water with it.

I don't know about it making you sick before.. did you tell your Dr. that? But as far as the codine, it's safe during pregnancy. They will even prescribe the cough meds with it in them during pregnancy. Feel better!

I've been on it since 24 weeks for back pain and I haven't had any side effects. I don't even get tired when I take it. Of course, this can be very different from person to person.

Yeah, I mentioned it. Unfortunately it was either this or nothing. I was maybe 16 or 17 when I got sick from it, so I may have grown out of it. I'm going to try them and see what happens. I just need something so I'm not up all night crying from the pain. Darn hips.

I was on it for a week or two while pg w/ DD. I had a bad cold and the cough was making every movement hurt (breathing, etc.) It calmed the cough and helped me sleep, taking away most of the pain. No side effects for me.

I have a prescription for Vicodin for a separated rib. I was very hesitant to take it also, but I was at a point where the only time I wasn't a sobbing mess was if I was standing perfectly still.

My OB even said that he would never prescribe something that was dangerous, and that the extreme pain can cause a lot more problems.

He gave me the Rx in December and I still have more than half a bottle left.

Do what you are comfortable with, but I can't tell you how mad I am at myself for crying in pain instead of just taking a pill.
