I think that's a great idea if that's what you want to do!! Having the party at a park is very convenient and Sesame Street is cute!
Personally, I went kind of low-key for my daughter's first b/c she wouldn't even realize it was going on. I did at at my aunt's house in the back yard and I did Winnie the Pooh. She has a huge yard and a swing set. I did have about 50 people but mainly b/c I have a big family.
This year for her second birthday I'm doing more and having it at a park and getting a bounce house and it'll be Mickey theme and I will really play up the theme.
The best thing about hosting a bday party at the park -- is you don't have to worry about cleaning up your house or things breaking in your house. The flip side is -- you have to plan very carefully because you don't want to have to make emergency trips to the grocer to pick up things you forgot.
Keep it simple - it's a kids party. Pizza, chips, fruit, snacks, water, juice , and cake. And lots of balloons, bubbles, and a pinata. Kids love pinatas. Have fun planning your daughter's 1st birthday!
My kids love Elmo! Eli's 1st and 2nd birthday parties at school were Sesame Street Beginnings and Elmo.
I love the Sesame Street theme. We are doing Noah's 1st birthday Sesame Street as well. Have you seen all the cute stuff you could buy?? We are doing it at our house...pool party.
