Hey Ladies.. we are moving forward with Foster Care and Foster/Adopt!!
We have our PRIDE training scheduled for 2/13 & 2/20 (our agency does monthly training which are 7 hour sessions on 2 consecutive Saturdays instead of the hourly training that is the "norm").
Oh, and the adoption coordinator said at our Pre-Training meeting that the quickest she has put together an adoption was 3 months (that is from the start of training to finalization)!! EEKKKKK!!
Just had to share the good news.. I wrote briefly about the training on Friday in my blog, but got my response from the agency today that we were signed up for February's Training sessions!
Re: PRIDE Training!!
THIS!
Ours was 40 hours. I'd be double checking on that.
congrats on getting started! such an exciting step!!
(and ditto the other ladies on the # of pride hours. we had 6 full saturdays of pride training - i cant imagine trying to fit it all into 14 hours)

It's really only 14 hours!
And the agency offers 2 hour monthly training to get to the annual training requirement. You have to complete 26 hours of training withing the 1st 6 months (14 of which are the PRIDE Training.. and then the remaining will be part of the monthly training). For an anual license you have to have 16 hours per year.
For adoption thru foster care you only have to do the 14 hour PRIDE training.
(I am looking at our handouts from Orientation to confirm)
