I posted this on Baby Names too, but sometimes you get faster and a greater number of responses here. I hope you don't mind me asking twice.
For some reason, Ellery has been stuck in my head the past few days. I know we wouldn't actually use it b/c I don't like that it sounds like celery (first thing that comes to mind) and Hillary (NMS), but as much trouble as we're having deciding on a name for DD, maybe this will generate some new ideas. Anything come to mind for you?
Re: XP: Names that remind you of Ellery?
I actually love the name Emery/Emory but DH doesn't. I also love Avery.
Edit- Emery could be short for Emerson. Or name could be Emery/Emerson and call her Emmy for short.
That's my point and why I'm looking for other ideas based on this inspiration. We're desperate for new ideas.
Isn't there a website out there that you can put in names you like and it gives you ideas about other names that you might like? I am pretty sure there is but I don't know it.
I recently like Rilynn, Avery, Cadence, Ainsley, Peyton, and Raegen. I guess I like the "A" sound... although if ours is a girl her name will be Adelynn... hmm.
ETA: I think it's Nymbler.com
I am not pregnant, but bored and wandering around the bump today and had to respond to this.
My DH's name is Elery. He HATES when people call him celery.
My last name is Ellery and people always think it's my first name! My best friend has always said that if she has a girl, she will name her Ellery and call her Elle for short.
And this never happened to me, but I can remember my brother being called Ryan "Celery" by other kids as a joke when we were young.
When I say my last name is Ellery, people often say "like the author!" Apparently there is a famous author named Ellery Queen...
