Right now, we have one crib in the extra bedroom and 1 crib in the office. Although the babies do often nap in these cribs, we have been co-sleeping since day 1. We're thinking its time to be done co-sleeping and transition the babies to the cribs full time.
We need to move the crib out of the office. I work from home and my husband sometimes works from home...we cant have a sleeping baby in there. I am not sure why we put a crib in there!
To move the crib we have to unassemble and re-assemble it. It's a PITA to do this so we only want to do it once.
Where would you move the crib - in the extra bedroom with the other crib OR in a second extra bedroom?
I think they would like to share a room, especially as they continue to recognize each other more. But, I worry that they will wake each other up. Although they are decent sleepers, they have their bad nights.
Thoughts?
Re: Where would you put the 2nd crib?
our boys share a room, as many (if not most) twins do.... they don't wake each other- they sleep right through the other one crying- it's amazing to me. I hope it lasts!
We have a white noise machine going in their room which helps I think.
If we had 2 rooms we might have them separate - but we don't have an extra room- so they'll be sharing forever unless we move or build on.
I shared a room with my older sister my whole life- was neveer an issue... it's not just a twin thing to share a room.
It depends, is it easier to move a crib, or the rest of your office? I would move whatever crib is in the office into the room with the other crib.
oh we are definitely not moving the office! haha, that would be work.
its either to move it into the room that already has the crib, or move it into an empty bedroom.
This is what I get for never making a nursey, eh? Ive got cribs in the wrong rooms and babies that dont sleep in the cribs!
So ALL twins sleep through each other's crying? How do they do that?
if they're cosleeping I assume they're sleeping in the same room together now? I think if they are not used to each others noises you might have a bit of a transition period, but if they have been sleeping in the same room all along they should be fine.
my kids share a room and I know from talking to a lot of other twin moms that their kids do as well and with no problems. often one of mine will wake up from a nap and be yelling and I can go in and get them all without waking the other. so yes, they do sleep through each others' noises
