Do you have a spot where you mark off your LO's height and date somewhere in the house?

My parents used to measure us in the basement on random dates, the previous owners of this house have the kid's measured inside of a bedroom closet.  I'd like to do something like this (better late than never) but can't decide on a location.  Any cute ideas along these lines?

    What about getting one of the cute ones from PB or Red Envelope or something? That way you can take it with you if you move too.. If we were gonna do it on a wall it would have to be inside a closet.. I'd never write on the trim in this house..

    dh did it in our kitchen.  it's a tiny piece of wall and he did it one day when I wasn't home.
