On Friday we went to the toy store to but a b-day present for my nephew. I always preface such outings with, " We can look at the toys, but Mommy is not buying you one." Well, we looked and we bought the present and Trev saw a truck set that he loved. I told him I would remember it for his birthday. On Saturday, I mentioned his birthday, which sparked a memory of the "green pincher truck." He whinned and threw a temper tantrum about it all day long, and I gave in! I rationed it as this will be part of his birthday present, but I just couldn't stand the whinning anymore.
I've never given in after I've left the store, but I've given in while at the store many, many times. DS collects monster jam trucks and when he sees one he doesn't have he goes crazy. DH is worse than me though. He'll stop at the store on his way home from work to randomly buy DS trucks. Then he says 'it's because you were good eysterday' or soemthing dumb.
