I always love reading these... How does everyone plan on sharing the big news with DH, friends, family, etc. once you get your BFP? (or how have you done it before?)
I love being super creative, so I'm gonna have to do something good for my family (I have a lot!!). Any fun ideas?? For my DH, I've got something special planned. I ordered his cherished childhood stuffed animal off of ebay. He lost it a long time ago and they don't make them anymore so it was very hard to find...and, honestly, a little more than I thought I would be spending. I will hide it and when I have a positive test, I will put it in the box with the toy and give it to him as a gift with a special note or something. I think it will be perfect. I just know he will love it!!
Re: Sharing the news??
I was googling once and found this really cool idea. My girlfriend is a photographer so DH and I are going to go home and take some family pics, but during one of them she's going to say 'Everybody say.....' and them I'm going to say 'I'm pregnant', and then she'll click away to get everyone's facial expressions as they process it.
It might be dorky but I'm huge into pictures and so is my mom so I know she'll love it.
I read this idea somewhere (I forget where!) and this is what I would like to do with my family: Get a picture of DH and I framed and write on a note card:
Picture: 12 cents
Frame: $15
Realizing there are 3 of us in this photo: Priceless
Now we just need that BFP......
I bought an "I love Daddy" onesie that I hope to give DH at some point. I also thought it would be funny/cute to put out sparkling wine at dinner, DH would probably comment on it and then take that opportunity to tell him I can't drink the real stuff for a while.
As for the extended family, I'm not sure yet...
That is such a cute idea!
With DD, I found a card for DH that was 'I'm so happy to be having a baby with you'. I put the + HPT in it, and a onesie I'd bought like a yr before, lol.
This time, I already picked up a BiG sister t-shirt on sale I can't wait for him to come home from work one day & see how long it takes him to notice her shirt. We'll use it for family too, when the time comes.

I'm really not sure. Telling DH is the easiest- I can't keep a secret and I think after 17 cycles he'd kill me if I held back the positive for even a second just to make it something bigger than it already is... the child we've wanted.
Telling family, on the other hand, might be fun. My mom uses her Grandmother's china at the holidays and it's a particularly difficult to find pattern. At the time my sister and I married she had exactly 6 settings- enough for mom/dad/sis/brother in law/me/dh. I found a big stash of it on Ebay years ago and bought it up to have something to give her for special occasions. When my sister got pregnant with my niece- I gave mom a 7th place setting to mark the occasion of her first grandchild. My current plan is to give her another setting for our first child. It's unnecessary since my sister and her husband divorced so we'd only need 7 for a holiday meal even with our child- but it's the principle.
I really have no idea how to tell DH's mom's family but I suspect we won't be able to keep it secret long enough to make a surprise out if it- we'll be too darn excited and we see them every few days. His dad, however, we'll think of something special. It'll be his first grandchild!

I found an idea just today actually I thought I would try....try is the key word though..we'll see if it works..
Tell DH I taught the dog a new trick, and train my dog to jump up and put his paws on my belly when I say "Where's the baby?"
We'll see though!
I don't think I'll have the willpower to do this with DH (I will most likely be too excited and blurt it out as I throw the stick at him), but it's what I want to do with our family. We've been looking for a new place for a while now, so my HOPE (I realize it's in God's hands not mine) is the timing will work out and we can have everyone over for a housewarming party (again to time BFP and a move... I'm going to need God) and have DD run in the room wearing a "I'm going to be a big sister" shirt as guests arrive.
I hope it works out that well, but I'm a terrible good-news-secret-keeper. If I know something positive I want to share it with the world.
