NBR: Cactus Cafe and Informal Classes closing

Due to budget cuts, UT is going to stop Informal Classes and close the Cactus Cafe according to an article in the Statesman.

I learned how to knit, crochet, decorate cakes and use my camera in part through the classes. What a loss to the community.

That is so sad! I love going to listen to music at the Cactus Cafe. They've had some great acts!

That is so sad - I have great memories of taking classes there with DH when we were dating. Hopefully when things get better, they'll bring them back.

That blows. I loved the Cafe, but the loss of informal classes strikes me as so much worse. So many opportunities lost for so many people.
