follistim question

hey ladies.   i'll be out of the house all day next saturday and still need to do my follistim shot.  if memory serves, as long as the cartridge has already been pierced, it does not need to stay refrigerated.  is this correct?  just trying to figure out the logistics for doing my shot out of the house.

Re: follistim question

  • Follistim is one of the medication that does need to be in the fridge.  Sorry!  Good luck!  Maybe you can bring a small cooler with you.

  • Yes, I think you're right on that.  Check with your nurse to be sure maybe, but that rings a bell (we managed to avoid out of house shots, so I'm not 100%.)  I know it has to be cold in storage, but it can last 30 days or something once pierced?  I cant' remember.
  • I'd bring it along with an icepack to keep it cold.

  • If you are going to use it within the month it doesn't need to be kept in the fridge. I keep mine in my purse for the day when I know I'm going to use it up.

  • Follistim does need to stay cold.  I agree with pp take along an icepack and you should be good.

this exactly.  If you look at the package it says that once punctured it can be kept in the fridge OR at room temp.
