Siena/Sienna

We are planning to name our daughter Siena (spelled after our favorite city in Italy!), however, will most people end up misspelling it as Sienna?

i've seen this on here a couple of times-I think it might get misspelled sometimes, but go with the spelling you like (especially if it has meaning).

We know another little girl named Siena and it hasn't been a problem so far. I say go for it if you love it. Cute name.

any name can get mispelled, I would go with what you like. Plus its not like you are really changing the spelling drastically.

it's one of our favorite cities in Italy too!!! (also why my husband wants to name out daughter Sienna). We would do it with the "nn" just for the sake of misspelling.

I love the name Siena and I also LOVE Siena, Italy. I would definitely spell it with 1 N. So what if people misspell it? If it had 2 Ns you would be naming her after a color instead...

probably, but I would still go for it, since it's only 1 letter difference. My name is Brianna and sometimes people spell it Briana, but it doesn't bug me that much ... she can always just say

"it's Siena ... with 1 N!"

I think it looks better with 2 n's, but since it has a meaning for you with 1 n, I would probably go with that.

I actually think it looks better with 1 N. We are seriously considering this name, for the same reason. Loved Siena when we visited Italy.

It's interesting how Sienna is considered a form of Siena but yet is so very much higher on the social security list.

Sienna looks better to me. I would assume that was the spelling.
