Since I can't ask the first time mommies
I was just wondering when your babies showed up! My cousins first was a week late her second was 3 weeks early..My friend just had her baby on the 28th he was almost 2 weeks late. My mom had told me a lot of women have them early..So I just wanted to see what you girls had.
On a side note, I want to work until LO is born (which means if shes late, I still work) and a lot of people are throwing in their "what if it happens at work" opinions.. But if shes early it could still be at work!
Re: Question for 2nd time moms about their first. (poll inside)
I think its going to be pretty evenly split.
DS came 5 days before his EDD.
I put showed up on time but it reality he probably would have been late.
I had a c-section 2 days before my due date because DS was breech. I was having no signs of labor so who knows when he would have came!

I don't think there's anything wrong with you working until you deliver. It will give you the most time with your baby during maternity leave. And if you go into labor at work, it's probably not a big deal. You won't be the first woman to go into labor at work and probably won't be the last, so if that's what you want to do go for it.
My first baby was 2 weeks early. My second was measuring pretty big, so I was induced a couple days before my due date. I worked up until I delivered with the first and took off a couple days before my induction with the second because I was so uncomfortable and couldn't stand the temp helping out in my office. She reeked of cigarette smoke and was a complete moron. I knew I couldn't work with her one more day without freaking out on her, otherwise I'd have probably held out those last few days. This time it is my goal to keep up with my days in the office until I deliver. I'm only there a couple times a week, so it should be a lot easier this time around. And if I were to go into labor at the office it would be hilarious. I don't know that either of my bosses could keep it together or think straight.
I was 3 days early, which is not common for first-time moms.
Also, don't worry about it happening at work. Chances are, your water won't break first (I was a freak that mine broke without any signs of labor first), and you'll be able to go home or the hospital with plenty of time to spare.
Bloggin' It
I dont think mine would either!
Fortunately I do live 5 min car drive from my job and the hospital is another 3 miles from my house so I'd be set
Thanks girls..I knew it depended on circumstance and the fact that we're all different..I just wanted kind of a vague Idea about the whole thing and the explanations are good too.

DD was born 39wks 5days
I was at work that Wed (felt like crap all week) and went into labor while asleep at 11:30pm. I do wish I had had sometime to rest at home but it's such a difficult thing to plan/schedule.
Your DS is tooo cute!!!! Where did you get those shirts I have been looking everywhere for something just like that and I cant find them!
DD was born at 39w3d.
I was at work until lunch time, she was born at dinner time.
My doc told me that the majority of 1st babies come after their EDD.
DS was born 2 weeks early (I was induced due to pre-e and DS size).
I also worked the day before DS was born (and I have a 45min-1hr commute each way.) I was even trying to go into work the day of, but my doc made me come into the office at 8am and then sent me right to L&D.
I plan to work as long as possible this time as well.

Special snowflake here!
I was induced twice. DD1 on her edd and DD2 - 16 days early.
Wow, I'm surprised by how many voted for "right on time".
DD was born on her due date. Water broke the night before at 10pm w/o any signs of labor. Called the doc and was told to come in as soon as I started having contractions. If no contractions, I was to come in at 5am. I set my alarm for 4am, showered, went to the hospital and was hooked up to pitocin by 7:00am (no contractions yet). DD was born at 6:04pm that day.
So...there was plenty of time...LOL!
my dd was two weeks plus late. i worked the day that i was induced. i taught all day and went to the hospital that night. good luck .
