I have cramping on my left side. Last night it was pretty intense. I don't have any bleeding or any other symptoms, but I'm nervous. Has anyone else had or known someone who had an ectopic pregnancy, and what was her experience?
Have you had an US yet? If not, and you don't know for certain that you have IUP, I would call the OB. You don't always have to have the bleeding first. I would definitely give a call. GL and hope everything works out...
My sister had an ectopic pregnancy. She was in extreme pain, but had no bleeding. They thought it was appendicitis at first, but then they did an ultrasound and discovered the ectopic pregnancy.
It's definitely not extreme pain. It just feels like period cramps, but it's worse on one side. I took some tylenol, and it seems to be letting up. I'm hoping I'm just being paranoid.
If I was you I would call my doctor, just to be safe. They are used to getting questions like this and they can let you know whether they think it is something serious that needs further evaluation or if it is normal. Good luck.
I've never experienced this, but my beta's were low and my OB wanted me to be aware of what to look for w/ an etopic pregnancy. She did say if I had extreme pain on the right or left side to call immediately. Maybe call to be on the safe side?
I would call just to ease your mind but I wanted to let you know I had the same thing around the same time as you. It was period like cramps but mostly on my right side. When I did go in for my first u/s it wasn't ectopic but the baby was on that side. Hope that helps but in the meantime try and relax, put your feet up and drink lots of water.
Thank you esipp! That does make me feel a bit better. It's not hurting as much now as it did last night, so I think I'm going to give it until tomorrow morning, and if it's still bothering me, I'm going to call the dr. My appt is on Wednesday anyway, so one way or another I'll have them check it out this week. I'm just going to try and do something to take my mind off of it for awhile!
