Cleaning Upholstery??

We bought a glider and ottoman off CL for the nursery.  It's in pretty good condition, just has a couple small stains and dinginess that needs to be cleaned.  Any cleaners that you have used that work well?? I bought some Bissell pet cleaner with a scrub brush, but it doesnt seem to be doing the trick and I can take the pad out of the upholstered cover to wash them   ...any help would be greatly appreciated!!
