Smaller meals aren't helping...

I don't know what my deal is lately. I'm sure it is the normal stuff that I've read about - dealing with our digestive process being all out of whack and slower but even eating smaller meals is not helping. I have tried slowing down and eating like a turtle, eating bland foods, and the small portions 5-6 times a day. Nothing has helped.

 Any suggestions? Help?

  • Sorry, I guess I didn't make that real clear. Slow digestion. Everything feels like it is stuck in my throat. And, I think my man is starting to get concerned about my professional belching capabilities. There aren't enough TUMS in Publix to make this feeling go away.

  • Whenever this happens to me, the only thing that helps is drinking a little bit of root beer, and burping. For some reason, burping lessens the pressure of the food stuck in my throat.

I always feel like I'm going to heave everything up when try carbonated beverages... I think I just have to get use to it for the next 16 wks. bleh!

  • maybe go on a mostly liquid diet for a few days to see if that helps???? I have been addicted to smooties and make them myself  every morning as I have had a hard time with food too....

    Good luck...

Sounds like acid reflux to me too... try this:

Water and Baking Soda for Acid RefluxMethod: Mix 8 oz of water with 1/4 tsp of baking soda and drink 3 times a day, 5 days a week for 3 weeks.

Verdict: It Works!  When you have acid reflux, acid is burning your stomach causing indigestion and discomfort. Chemically, the bicarbonate ion present in the baking soda will react to neutralize this acid, effectively treating acid reflux.   (https://www.doctoroz.com/videos/home-remedies-put-test?page=2#copy

  • Clear with your OB first, but mine recommended Maalox advanced. It's an antacid with simethicone for gas. My husband calls them my "magic pills". They have been a lifesaver. I'm also on a prescription anti-acid. It's worth talking to the dr. about, there are things that help!

  • I was having many of the same symptoms. I feel for you it is miserable!! My Dr told me on Tuesday to stay away from Calcuim based antacids like Tums and to try something liguid. Calcium based antacids can slow digestion and cause constapation. I've been using Maalox advanced with the antigas for a few days and it has made a world of difference. Also he told me to take some milk of magnesia nightly for two days to "clear out my bowels". Now I'm just taking the Maalox in the morning and at night and I feel 100% better.  Hope this helps!! And of course check with your Dr. to make sure that you don't have a bigger problem going on!!

    Good Luck!
