What are your Baby Nursery Ideas for twins?

I would love to hear some suggestions or see pictures of your nursery. :)

Also...What crib/furniture set did you get and are you happy with your purchase?

Re: What are your Baby Nursery Ideas for twins?

  • a twin nursery is the same as a singleton - just two cribs :) unless you have boy/girl- that makes it a little more difficult.... otherwise- theme wise- same as any other baby.

my advice (which no pg first time mom wants to hear b/c it's not fun) is not to waste money on fancy bedding- you shouldn't use the bumper (SIDS risk- and with the SIDS loss on the board today - I really hope people think about risk factors more seriously)..... You shouldn't use the blanket for a long time, if at all.... and you will change the sheet all the time - so will only see the "matchy" one now and then.... the only thing that shows is the crib skirt, really.

With the twins we just have matching orange crib skirts (that i actually made) and coordinating sheets, and breathable bumpers - that match the paint colors on the wall (orange, dark blue and a sort of sage/key lime color).

We have Leksvik cribs from Ikea and love them - also have a matching wardrobe, shelf and toy chest, too.  Great prices and look great. Ikea cribs are good if space is limited b/c it doesn't have fancy orante molding that makes it take up more space.

  • Our furniture was a little pricey but we decided it was well worth it because it'll be their furniture from the time they're born until they move out of our house... literally! We don't plan on spending money again on bedroom furnitre.

https://www.kids-n-cribs.com/baby-appleseed/baby-appleseed-beaumont/baby-appleseed-beaumont-crib (girl) We paid less than the price on this site. It was just the only picture I could find.

I'm obsessed with this bedding for our girl but haven't committed to it yet because of the price and because of the things Goldie Locks said in terms of what actually gets used in a set.

Also we don't know if they'll be sharing a room yet since we'll be moving right before or after they're born. If they share a room these are the sets that I like together. But they're just as pricey so who knows what I'll decide. I think I may just wait until the last minute and if I have to just get cheap, necessities to start until I know exactly where we'll be.

  • I'm thinking a beach theme.  Emerson's nursery was pink and I'm over that completely.

This is the crib I purchased for Emerson in white and will get another to match.  From there, I'm going pretty neutral.

ETA-It's hard as a first time mom not to buy into going all out on expensive bedding.  I certainly did with Emerson, going as far as getting it custom made.  I'll be purchasing pre made this time around.  I think this is really cute for girls or boys!

  • We were team green, so we painted it a bright green (Lettuce Alone by Olympia). We used white furniture and it looks really pretty! Gender neutral bedding, ABC theme. DH made a plaque that says "Two cute little faces, with matching grins, nothing could be any cuter than twins"

  • Our girls' nursery looks like any other nursery, but with two cribs and a larger dresser.  In terms of the bedding, I had a hard time letting go of the cute bumper idea, but just like others have discussed, it wasn't worth the SIDS risk.  Given that I wouldn't use the bumper or the blanket in a bedding package, I just bought a cute crib skirt from Target and plain white sheets plus an ultimate crib sheet.  The cribs are from Wal-Mart, and I love them.  They were extremely affordable and look great.

  • B/G-

furniture is Munire newport in espresso. Generally happy wtih it, great quality but the molding along the side on the long side is so wide I can't use mobiles or crib soothers there, they have to go on the short side (which is ok for the mobile but not really good for the soothers, took that out altogether.

Have a Best Chairs Quinn glider in a neutral microfiber . LOVE.IT.

Bedding & valances- Alphabet by migi.

Basic decos (I didn't do a whole lot)- 8 1/2 x11 alphabet cards that are on a shelf that is up high near the ceiling on2 walls of the room; land of nod wall mounted book bin; floating shelf ledge thing w/ photo frame & some other items; mirror in simlar color to bedding

paint- neutral oatmeal like color- wool skein by SW

  • For theme ideas you can check out babysupermall.com.  They have tons of bedding sets to choose from.  But you can also buy each item separately since like other posters wrote, you really only use the crib sheet and bed skirt.  I have two cribs, a changing table, and a high dresser.  And two gliders (one we borrowed from my mom).  I went with a berry garden theme and the walls are pink and green.  And I got the hanging wooden letters of their name on the wall.

  • We are team green.  The room is already painted aqua, so we are doing mostly aqua and yellow.

I'm just getting sheets I think, and making the bed skirts.  We are getting 2 ikea gulliver cribs.  (I have a crib from DS, but it's drop side, so I don't feel comfortable reusing it.)  I have a little ikea dresser, and a changing table already from DS, all the furniture is white.

For decorations I'm going to make fabric pendant garland.  (triangles hanging from ribbon) I'm also looking for cute mobiles on etsy.

  • We are having b/g twins which makes decorating hard.  We got this furniture:

    image

    Its Sophia by Sorell.

We painted the walls a medium sage green.  I am just getting white breathable bumpers, white sheets and white crib skirts because A) there were no gender neutral crib sets I liked and B) all the things Goldie said. I got white curtains.  I am hand painting their name letters in sage green, white and chocolate brown to hang over their cribs.  I am also planning on a tree with birds decal for over the changing table. I just have to find the perfect one. And I am doing a few more handmade bird themed items.

  • Nikki your boy/girl nursery sounds A LOT like mine!

I have crisp light green walls, espresso furniture (Kendall collection from PBKids) and cream bedding. I got cream colored bedskirts (the boxy kind with one pleat, not ruffly) on amazon and cream sheets and bumpers at BRU. The bumpers are the Carters dot ones for a little texture. The glider is cream colored as well. The dark wood and creamy white look so good against the green walls... I am thrilled at how it turned out.

  • We're B/G and sticking with very neutral chocolate/cream colors for bedding.

    https://www.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx?DeptID=59738&CatID=59738&Grptyp=ENS&ItemId=1460ab1&cmRef=https://www.google.com/search?q=jcp+creme+brulee&rls=com.microsoft:*:IE-SearchBox&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=ie7&rlz=1I7DKUS_en

I found this bedding and loved it and since my mom and gmom are quilters and are making the bedding, I gave them this to go by. They think I'm boring and are adding bits of blue and purple to the individual blankets, but the dust ruffle and curtain will match and be chocolate/cream. I am also toying with the idea of painting the walls large vertical stripes of what it is now (cream/offwhite) and a darker brown. The furniture is dark cherry/espresso.

  • We went the cheap route and bought the furniture at JCPenney.

Here are pics of our (not quite finished) nursery.  Bedding is from PBK.  Glider is from Best Chairs (very comfy).

  • I'm not a theme type of girl.  I'm just getting bedding from Restoration Hardware Baby and Child- they have alot of patterns that fit our style.  I despise all things pink and girly so if it's 2 girls, they'll have green bedding and we'll use the same color bedding if it's a boy and a girl.  If it's 2 boys, we'll do blue.  They sell cute rugs at RH Baby so we'll get one of those that matches the bedding.

We're getting cribs from Bellini.  That's where our son's crib was from and they will go with the rest of our nursery furniture.

    hi

Baby nursers has always been a Challenge and enjoy for parents. Ans there is more fun if there are twins. Twins means more care, more responsibilities, and better idea to decor same room or space for two babies.

For great baby nursery ideas, you can visit https://www.mybabystore.com.au/ this will be really helpful source for nursery ideas.
  • We are having twin girls, and I am just starting to get my nursery plan finalized. We will be using mini cribs and a combo dresser/changer because their room is very small.

We already own an extra tall dresser that we will use for most of their clothing storage, but that will be kept in the hall because the nursery is too small for it. I would love to get a rocker or glider, but again...too small. We may get one for the living room instead.

For a theme, I am going with a sort of forest animal meets the shire type thing. For now the walls will remain white but I want to put up some decals of trees/animals. I am making my own curtains out of many strips of colorful calico fabric. I am sewing quilts for both girls, but will not use them in the cribs until they are older. I always sew quilts for new babies in the family so I had to do it for ours too! The main quilt fabric has forest animals in pink, blue, orange, and purple on a peachy background. I am using accents in pretty much every color. I will probably have to fashion my own breathable bumpers because I have yet to find any for mini cribs...or just go without until they are older. I will likely make the crib skirts as well, but I haven't figured out how to do that yet.

  • for my b/g twins I did a primary color theme.  The walls were yellow with accents of red and blue. We had white cribs. At that time PBK had crib bedding that was Dr. Seuss. I bought that (they used to play on the crib blankets and now they use them in their toddler beds). But the sheets were cute (i bought two sets) and then picked up some cute decals on ebay.

  • We are having b/g twins and I didn't want any 'theme' type of room. Although it's worked out to be a few vintage toys that DH and I still have, some vintage type posters and then just stuff we liked.

I made the bedskirts and blankets for each and although I wanted them to coordinate I didn't want them to be matchy, matchy.

Let's see if I can successfully post pics...

  • The nursery walls were already painted red, and I wasn't about to tackle repainting them, so I decided to work with it instead and do a red/turquoise/white room.  I based all of my nursery design around a series of Robert Kaufman holiday fabric and made all of the fabric items - crib skirts, rail covers, blankets, pillows, and curtains that still need to go up - and recreated the polar bears in Illustrator so I could blow them up and put them on the walls.

The cribs are PBK Kendall (purchased on Craigslist) and the dresser and nightstand are Ikea Hemnes collection.

We did IKEA Gulliver cribs in white, white and grey chevron sheets/solid orange sheets from carousel designs, light grey paint, and hung paper lanterns from the ceiling in white, grey, turquoise and orange. I found that I used project nursery for most of the design ideas. Image and video hosting by TinyPic
