Ethan's dresser/changer is falling apart and it stinks! We bought it from JC Penney and I have hated it for awhile but stuck with it - it has a cardboardish bottom for the drawers and it would not stay in place on one of the drawers, but yesterday the actual wood covering the screw part broke because the front panel would not stay in place due to the issues with the bottom of the drawer. Very unhappy with our purchase!! So anyways, his crib is cherry so I would like a dresser to match - am toying with the idea of painting his crib black and keeping it for him converting to a full, so there wouldn't be any issues of a baby chewing on the rails, which may open up more possibilities for a dresser (i.e. Ikea who I don't think carries cherry finish).
What stinks is we bought the hutch to match and now I am going to lose all that storage from the hutch... plus I don't know what in the world we can do with it, and can't sell it since one of the drawers is broken. Too bad BRU isn't including all furniture in their trade in event!!
So if you have a dresser or other accessory furniture that you love and is somewhat reasonable for your little one or elsewhere in your home, please share!
Re: I need some dresser recommendations!
We bought the red dresser from IKEA. Hermes, I think.
So far we are happy with it. We were planning on keeping it just for 2-3 years until we get the boys bunkbeds and a new set for them to share.
We also bought a nice sized dresser at Woodcraft. My husband painted it himself and we bought new knobs for it. It is a very nice piece of furniture. I thought the price was reasonable. It may cost a bit more than something at BRU but you get what you pay for. And this is something that will likely last this kid into adulthood

I found the black crib (real wood) online. I hated all that cheaply made furniture at the baby stores with all the fake wood.
