if the last nap of the day gets shortened or is a fail, do you go for a 3rd nap even if it is very late (after 4 pm), or do you just let things ride (fussy baby and all) and maybe put the baby to bed a little earlier?
I tried for the 3rd nap starting at 4, and he fell asleep in my arms, then woke in the crib, and at this point I don't want to push it... but every time we have a messed up afternoon nap I face this dilemma
Re: what do you do in this situation re: naps
Word.
If she doesn't take a nap around 230 or 3, then we just try to put her to bed a little earlier. I try not to let her fall asleep any later than than at least 4, either, otherwise we are up literally all night.
Happened today...she took a short nap at 12/noon ish and slept for 1 hr. Now she has been napping for 1 hr. I need her to take that 2nd nap of the day or she's a Fussa-Cranka!!
DC hates me come Monday, A is all messed up!!
Have you tried eliminating the middle nap? I've heard that's usually what nap gets dropped first and that's true for us. It sounds like he's going to 2 naps.
DS wakes up, is awake for 2 hours, takes a nap, is awake for 3 hours, takes a nap, goes to bed after (3-)4 hours. Many on here refer to it as the 2-3-4 schedule.
grins- he is on a 2 nap loose schedule. the 3rd nap is only if he wakes super early or his 2nd nap is short...
hmmm, well i think it's an early bedtime tonight... maybe some yo gabba gabba to get us through
Proud mama to a boys- 6/17/09 - a girl 2/23/11- and a boy 8/20/12
We just put him to bed about a half hour earlier.
Most of the time, it isn't too bad.
