Does anyone know anything about the new Air Protect carseat?

I posted last night about convertible carseats since we're at that point with Charlotte, and we were just going to give her Ava's convertible and get Ava a 3-in-1 type.  Last night we went out to look at our options and DH became obsessed with this new seat, and is insisting that we get it for both girls.  It's pretty pricey.  I have no problem with that considering all the junk we buy that we DON'T need, but was hesitant to spend that much on a seat that is new on the market.  Obviously it's been crash tested and passes safety standards, just wondering if anyone has experience with it and if it's worth the price?

  • I don't know about the seat, but did you know BRU is doing a trade in event that started yesterday?  You get 25% off selected brand name items when you trade in any stroller, carseat, crib, playyard, etc from ANY brand and you did not have to purchase at BRU...  www.babiesrus.com/tradein

  • I don't have any personal use experience. I have seen it and I like the side wings that it has similar to britax boulevard. I don't remember Ava's height weight stats to see if it would really be worth it for you.

Here are a couple reviews for you. One is pretty detailed the other has a few pics of peoples kids in it.

    good luck

  • Well, my initial reaction in that it only goes to 50 pounds forward facing. The Naut goes to 65 forward facing. So unless Ava is a major peanut it might not be the best option for her. It does go RFing to 40 pounds... which is one of the higest on the market, however, how long will you actually RF? Because 40 pounds would probably take you to over 4 years old. At age 3 a smaller child can still RF in most of the new carseats (most of the better new ones RF to 35 pounds). If you would want to RF past age 3 that might be a great option to get for Charlotte but I don't really like that it only goes to 50 pounds forward facing... which would probably be in the 5-6 year age range (but would be much older depending on the kid... I was only 55 pounds in 6th grande...LOL)
