2nd Trimester

Anyone else still really tired?

I was able to get a lot of cleaning done around the house today...and now I just woke up from a 3 hour nap!!  And I got a full night's sleep last night.

Re: Anyone else still really tired?

  • Yep, but that could just be because I have a two year old and a 4 year old I stay at home with. :) I remember naps....vaguely.

  • You might be anemic.  My OB did a blood test when I complained about being really tired.  It turned out that I had low iron.  I was really tried until I started taking iron supplements.  After a couple days of taking iron, my energy was back to normal.
  • I have figured out that if I do the slightest thing, I am out for a couple days! I feel like the laziest woman in the world right now. OH well, I bet in about 5ish months I'll be busy busy busy. Thats my excuse :-)

Yep, I was anemic with DD so they just ran some BT to check it this time around. But I also get super constipated so taking the iron pills sucked for me! I also have to take stool softners...the joys of pregnancy! lol

  • I'm convinced they are all lies about the "wonderful" second trimester.  I was told the morning sickness and fatigue would go away.  Neither is true!!  I'm still tired all the time and I still have nausea at night.
  • Same here! Full night of sleep and a 3 hour nap. I woke up and we made breakfast, then after eating it and cleaning it up, I asked DH for a backrub. I went and laid on the bed and was almost asleep by the time he was done. He covered me up, kissed me and turned off the light. When I woke up it was 2:30! I laid down at 11:15! I feel better though :)

  • Yes.  I pretty much slept through my entire 1st trimester, then had energy from weeks 13-18.  Then around 19 weeks, I became exhausted again.  Granted, there's a lot going on at work and at home (trying to get the nursery ready, our basement flooded during the torrential downpour we had earlier this week), but I can't believe how wiped out I've been lately!

  • I work 9 hours a day, so when I get home by 6 or 6:30 I'm starting to crash...
  • Yes! I feel like more this trimester than last.  I had a great nights sleep and woke up and went to Kohls and the grocery store.  By time I came home, unpacked, and had some lunch I was asleep on the Lazy Boy. Didn't wake up for an hour and a half.

It ALL comes back....in 3rd tri. lol Good luck to all of you though!

  • I am exhausted still!  I teach junior high and after school I come home, eat and go to sleep until the next day.  When I finally have a good day, the next day seems to be worse than ever :(  I really hope the rumors about 2nd trimester are true and start soon!  Everyone just keeps telling me it will kick in any day now....
  • Yes! Although I'm not quite as tired as I was during the 1st tri, I'm still tired. I also feel lazy...especially on the weekends. I guess after a weeks worth of work it just feels right to lay around all weekend and not do a thing. Weekends make me wonder how I make it through a work day without a nap...
  • i am tired all the time except for the weekends when i can nap but i attribute my tiredness from working and dealing with 3rd graders all day
