i have been checking it out too! i'm not terribly impressed with it's quality though. i found an almost identical bed at an unfinished wood store near us and really like it better.

We got it for DD as her big girl bed in the twin size. We're really happy with it!
We looked at several different stores and for the price, I'm glad we went with it. It shipped perfectly, was easy to assemble, and I think it'll last her as long as we need and/or want it to.
I always considered PBK furniture on the higher-end of things, but with the sale on the Catalina stuff, it really made it competitive with most of the places we looked (unless we would've just considered a headboard and/or metal frame).
I wasn't impressed with the dresser in the store. We got a dresser and toy chest elsewhere.
Good to know about the dresser - I was hoping I could get that somewhere else for a better price. I think the sale price on the bed will be hard to beat...

It is! We got the twin size for DD's big girl bed this fall and love it. Already had dresser, etc. so didn't look at the other Catalina pieces. The bed is really pretty and I'm very happy w/ the construction. It was the same price/less expensive than other furniture stores I looked at, which weren't even very high-end.
FYI, we didn't need the trundle and I made the mistake of ordering the box spring w/ the mattress. You don't need it w/ just the bed. We may use it when DD's older, but for now it made the bed ridiculously high.
