how big were your lo's and how much NICU time did they need.
DS was in NICU for 6 1/2 weeks and I don't know if i can go through that again...it was really the hardest thing I have ever had to do seeing him like that. I know that when it happens, I will have to do that but I am hoping not so long *fingers crossed* and praying for a few more weeks!
we are doing good. 2 days now, still in L&D. still dilated to 1cm which is good, no change from yesterday! OB says we have at least a couple more days hopefully 2+more weeks but we have to see what happens after i come off mag. contractions are down to 1-3 an hour. i am not in NEARLY as much pain as I was when I was admitted. i received my 2nd steroid shot at 9 pm last night and we are waiting for the official 48 hours after the 1st shot (tonite 9pm). OB says tomorrow morning at about 9:30am I will be taken off of the mag and then observed and moved from L&D to the anti-partum unit! this means catheter comes out and i get shower privliges AND get to go to pee in the toilet! oh how the little things excite me!

Re: those who delivered 30-32 weeks....and brief update!
ps- A triplet mom that I know had her babies at 32 weeks, 5 days- all 3 were over 3 lbs, and none of them needed a vent. Another triplet mom that I know had hers also between 32 & 33 weeks- I dont' remember the exact sizes but 2 of the trips were over 3 lbs and the smallest was 2 lbs 15 oz. She said that the smallest one actually did the "best" in the NICU- didn't need a vent, etc.
Good luck to you. That's so great that you were able to get both shots of steroids. I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you that you make it to at least the 48 hour mark, but hopefully a few more weeks.
I delivered at 31 weeks 2 days. Gerard was 3lbs. 4 oz. and Mackenzie was 3 lbs. 3 oz. Gerard was in the NICU for 7 weeks and Mac for 6 weeks. We went through a lot and they both came home on monitors, but are fine now and don't need anything. They are almost 17 pounds each now and meeting/surpassing all milestones. In the beginning, though, both were intubated at some point, Mackenzie had a chest tube, and some other things. My thoughts are with you.
Mine were born at 32 weeks, 6 days. DS weighed 3 lbs, 10.5 oz and stayed in the NICU for exactly 3 weeks. DD weighed 3 lbs, 13 oz and was in the NICU for 19 days. Both came out breathing on their own and didn't need any kind of support. Basically they were just feeders and growers.
