Pregnant after a Loss

March Clovers and anyone else :( UPDATED

*** It seems like everyone thinks Schwan's is a good idea.  I know MrsT is in VA, but that's all I know so we will have to wait to make sure they deliver there, but it looks like average meal prices are running $8-12/entree and ice/cream and desserts about the same for packages of ice cream bars and cakes and pies.

I feel like we should do something for MrsTyson.  She is one of the most giving and active members of our group, and I want to show support somehow.

I have a paypal business account, so we could use that and then I can use my business card anywhere.

So what ideas do you?  I like the idea of Schwan's because the last thing I would want to do is cook and I'm not sure if something remembrance oriented is the best thing right now, it might hurt to much.  But what suggestions do you?

Re: March Clovers and anyone else :( UPDATED

  • Do we know where she lives?  When one of my coworkers lost her baby we looked into a food delivery service.  Basically you call and place an order to any restaurant and they will pick it up and bring it to you.

I still cant believe this happened.  Sometimes life is so unfair.

  • I definitely like the idea of preprepared meals. It's a tough time, you know you have to eat but don't have the energy or ambition to do it. I think that would greatly help them out.

  • I do like the idea of the meals. Something as a memorial might be a little too much right now. I still cannot believe this. I know she was 3rd tri, but how far along was she? I am so sad for them I don't even know what else to say.

We were due on the same day - March 12. So she had to be over 33 weeks since she posted after her l&d trip.

  • I really like the idea of meals. I also think something in rememberance would be nice, even a candle or small figurine or plaque of some sort? I'll try to do some research this weekend and see what I can come up with and we'll see if anyone likes the idea.

I will try to contact her this weekend and get her address. MsAlbin, I'll PM you the info once I get it. Thank you for doing that, I wouldn't even know where to start setting up a PayPal account!

  • I agree about prepared meals.  I think that was the most helpful immediately after we lost DD.

I'm willing to contribute any way I can.  I'm just heartbroken over this.

  • I was at about the same time when I lost my LO last July, and the best thing my friends did for me was send a huge care package with junk food, trashy magazines, and their favorite movies to keep me busy. They also sent some frozen pizzas from a really good place in Chicago- so the Schwans idea is good. They sent me a necklace too, but I've never worn it, I wanted to pick out my own. So the rememberance jewelry is a nice idea, but maybe after a few weeks when she's had some time.

I would love to contribute to whatever you decide to send her.

  • Thank you, Ashley.

I like Sydney's idea too.  I'm going to check out Schwan's and see what we're looking at and I'll post more info.

This. I figure a remembrance thing would be overwhelming right now. And there are obviously plenty of us who want to help her out during this terrible time, so I think we'd be able to swing a decent amount of meals.

  • Definitely count me in. This just breaks my heart...

I think meals are a great idea. But, I think a small rememberance item, like the Willow Tree figurine that was suggested in another post, would be nice. I know I greatly appreciated meals, as well as rememberance gifts, after we lost Isaac.
