3rd Trimester
almost 39w - one hour+ travel ?
i'll be 39w on monday. i've had no real obvious signs of labor coming anytime soon (no contrax, mp, etc.). i really want to do some walking, but it's freezing here and i live in small town with no mall or indoor facility. i've also felt trapped in the house a little bit the last week or so and i want to get out and do something. dh is working today so he can't do much. my parents and sister are spending the day in a town about an hour and 15 minutes away where there is shopping and other things to do. i really want to take dd and go meet them there this afternoon, but i'm kind of nervous to go that far away, especially by myself (w/o dh). i really want to go and i feel up to it, i'm just not sure it's a smart choice. what do you think?

Go for it. I was due w/ DD on a Thursday and went about that far (or farther) like 3 days before my EDD and went shopping, test drive cars, etc. DD ended up being 11 days late.

WHen I had DS, we lived 45min+ from the hospital where I delivered. An hour is fine.
I'd go and just make sure to have your hospital bag in the car w/u and the new baby's carseat, too, if yours is the car that will be taking LO home. Have fun!
(this is coming from a woman who had her baby at 39wks after having no feelings beforehand).
