Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Totally Frustrated..3rd Dayhome since October..Ugh.

I work 28 hours per week from home and have meetings 2 Tuesdays a month. I decided in September that I needed some childcare. DD started at a great Dayhome in October, going every Tuesday. All was good and then the Dayhome provider decided she needed more kids and just wanted full time kids. So we found another great Dayhome. DD has been going there for 3 weeks now and I just got a call from her provider saying her DH was laid off and she needs to go back to work full time. So DD will be moving on to her 3rd dayhome since October. I am beyond frustrated. The 2nd provider was amazing and was totally looking at this long term, but what can you do? I feel bad for her in this situation.. So we are on the hunt AGAIN. I feel bad for DD, she doesn't seem to mind at all, adapts really well to the new providers etc.. but I want her to have some stability. She is on a wait list for a Daycare center, however they don't take kids until they are 19months old. So another 2 months at least of waiting to get into there. There would be more stability with a Daycare I think.. Anyway. Just needed to vent a  little. Does anyone have any suggestions?? I don't know what else to do but find another Dayhome.. But there is just not much stability with them...

  • That stinks.  I was really upset when our babysitter left us for a full time job with benefits because I really wanted my son to have only one long-term sitter, as well.  But I've learned that it's not gonna work out that way.  Our new sitter is great; I hope she can stick around for a while.  She may go back to school in September, though, so we shall see...
