Postpartum Depression

A question

hi ladies, I have a question, my LO is almost 7 months old, I am happily married and I have a great life. But i still find myself tired, not wanting to do anything and just over all sad. It came to a head today when my DH pionted it out to me. I have been in tears since. I dont know if ppd can hit at 7+ months though, or if it is regular depression or just the baby blues. Any advice on where to go from here? I dont want to live this way, its no fun. Tia!

Re: A question

  • I had what I would call the "baby blues" immediately after Jacob was born.  But I think that the real issues hit when I was about 7 months pp.  It was hard to explain as PP depression since I was so far away from giving birth, but the feelings were real and made me concerned.  I was having a lot of anger, depression and anxiety about issues that would come up with Jacob.  I sought help and almost immediately I saw a difference.  Nearly 4 months later, things are going really great.

I suggest talking to someone.  It might not be PPD, but its all related to having a baby and it sounds like you might need some extra help!

  • typically it can strike any time in the first year.  i think if you suspect something is up, then you should trust your intuition and talk to somebody about it.
