Need a travel/lightweight stroller recommendation

My DH and I travel a lot and I want to register for a great travel/lightweight stroller for when our DD arrives in May .... and recommendations??

Re: Need a travel/lightweight stroller recommendation

  • I use a Maclaren Quest to travel with. When my son was 2 months, we brought the Chicco with us and a man insisted on putting it through the x-ray machine and it got stuck and took forever to get out. I was so embarrased! Since then, I have stuck to the Maclaren.

  • I second the Quest for when your LO is a little older (not sure how well it works with a really little one)!  It is so easy to travel with!  DD has been on over 20 flights and we love it for the airport.  Once you figure out how it folds/opens, it is really easy to do one-handed (which is a MUST when it is just you and the LO travelling!)

When DD was still in an infant carrier, we used a Baby Trend Snap 'n Go that we picked up from Craigs List for $25.  It was definitely worth it and travelled well but once she outgrew the infant seat (around 9 months), we needed something else.

I see past-year Maclaren strollers at Ross/TJ Maxx/Marshalls sometimes... they usually only have one model (Quest, Volo, or Triumph).  We snagged the Quest for $80. Because of the recall though, they may not carry them anymore.

  • The snap n go was wonderful when C was tiny and happy sitting in the pumpkin seat.  It was light, compact and convenient.

Now we travel with our Combi (BRU).  I'm not sure of the model # (it's grey and green with dots), but we love it for travel.  It opens easily with one hand and folds up easily and is light (I can hold her & get the thing opened quick with my left hand).  It also has a strap on the back, so you can put it over your shoulder and carry it (kinda like a golf bag).  That's wonderful for airport gates when you check the stroller at the gate.  It's on the cheaper end (like $70 I think) and you can tell that bc since we've used it so much the wheels kinda stick sometimes.  But it"s totally worth it and we love it, especially bc we've been flying home a decent number of times.

  • I love my Maclaren Triumph. It folds quickly, easily, and is simple to use one handed.

  • I definitely agree with the others on the Maclaren! I have three of them! 1 volo and 2 quests! Hands down, the best lightweight stroller we have (we have 5!)
