He just had the damned tubes put in on the 6th. THREE FREAKING WEEKS. THREE FREAKING WEEKS and we have another ear infection?
I know it's better, we can treat with drops instead of oral antibiotics, but SWEET GOD IN HEAVEN, can my kid GET A BREAK?
Oh, and I figured this out when I went to get him from daycare because his G-tube broke and I didn't have the spare in the bag, so I'd rushed home to get a new tube, then to daycare to get it in before his stoma closed.. so I was already flustered. Then I look at his ears and realize they're oozing the grossest yellow pus..
Calgon take me away.
Re: Robbie has another double ear infection.
Mother TRUCKER!!! Poor Robbie and poor you! If I had some Calgon, I'd be overnighting it to ya.
I do, however, have several bottles of wine....if you are interested
He's just testing out all his gear today isn't he? And your sanity.
How did the g tube break? Never had that happen before (knock on wood).
Oh holy hell
That poor little guy. That is not fair!!
If Calgon, and wine don't take you away, I think some whiskey or tequila is in order.
Oh I'm so sorry. What a horrible day! Poor Robbie. I hope he and you feel better soon. (hugs)
I saw in my post below where you said he is now walking...yay for that!!!
Laura- the balloon was leaking, I guess? The button came out at daycare, which sometimes happens if he grabs it hard enough, but usually you can deflate the ballon and put it back in. But today it wouldn't hold the water.
Normally I have a 2nd button in his daycare bag, but this one was only about 2 weeks old and I hadn't put a new one in there yet, so I had to rush home to get a new one and then to daycare.
We went 6 months w/o it ever coming out or breaking, but the last 3 months I think we've been through 5.

OMG! I didn't that was supposed to happen if you got tubes. I feel so awful for your lil guy.
It HAS to get easier for you both soon!
here4you- they did warn us it still COULD happen, but it's a lot less likely to. At least.. normally. But Robbie never does ANYTHING normally. EVER.
It is easier to treat now, he can get antibiotic ear drops instead of oral meds.. It's a lot easier on his body, plus it's a 5 day course instead 10.. but it still freaking sucks.

Oh, I'm not surprised to hear that actually. I belong to a local NOVA/MD parents of tube fed kids board (www.tubiekids.com) and there's been a lot of people complaining they have gotten bad batches. If you haven't already, you should call your supply company and let them know so they can track it.
i'm sorry!
Poor Robbie (and Mommy) - I hope he feels better soon and you both get a break.
If not, I can put the Patron in the mail tomorrow!
