Can babies all of the sudden develop a birthmark?

Earlier this week, I noticed that dd now has strawberry-like marks, one on each foot.  Anyone else with this?  If they are not birthmarks, do you know what it may be?

    Some hemangiomas can develop this way.  Keep an eye on them.  If they start to grow, take her to see her Ped.

    DD has a birthmark on the back of her neck that didn't show up until she was about a month old.  I thought it was a heat rash at first from the car seat but after it didn't go away, I asked about it and turns out it's a birthmark.

    Thanks ladies!  I'll definitely keep an eye on it!  It's flat right now, but I'll definitely call the pedi if there are any changes.

    dd has one behind her ear, it was really small when she was born and now has gottona little bit bigger, so it is obvious. Our doc says some go away, some get bigger, her's is a bump like a mole which he said is also normal.
