NBR: Rec your makeup

I am trying to find makeup that stays put for the better part of the day.  What do you use?  I mean everything from foundation to mascara and in between...TIA!

Re: NBR: Rec your makeup

  • I use the Neutrogena Mineral Sheer Powder/Foundation compact.  I LOVE it!  For blush, I use Maybelline blush, and L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara (waterproof).  I have really long eyelashes, and this is the best brush on a mascara I have found.  For eye shadow, I use all different kinds.  Right now I am using some that I bought at a spa party from BeautiControl, and it stays on really good throughout the day.

  • I hope a lot of people respond to this because I am wondering too. I would second the Neutrogena powder/liquid compact. I used to use it and I loved it, it was the skin clearing kind. The eyeshadow I use is Maybeline. It comes in a blue compact and it says for what specific eye color. It has 4 different shades and on the back it tells you how to apply it. Makes putting on eyeshadow so simple. Here is a link to it: https://www.maybelline.com/Product/Eye/Eyeshadow/expert-wear-eye-shadow-quads.htm

  • I use MAC products but I don't wear make-up everyday b/c I have skin issues. I generally only wear make-up on Sunday's and when we're going out.

  • I wear all Origins, but my sister and mom swear by Bare Essentials.  I might start using it soon......
  • Everything I use is from clinique.  I was using Lancome and loved it!  It made my face feel so smooth but I quit using it because it cost $80 for foundation and powder.

  • I use a few different brands.

    Powder/foundation/mascara/lip stick/gloss: Clinique

Concealer/Blush/eyeshadow: MAC (great eyelash curler too)

    Eyeliner: Cover Girl

I have been using Clinique for over 10 years. I love their 3-step cleansing system too. I just recently over the past few years began using MAC.

    Good luck!

  • Bare Essentials.  I've tried almost every kind of makeup there is, yet keep coming back to this one.  I've got a mild case of rosacea and the stuff I have to put on my face makes makeup just slide off my face and this is the only kind I've found that has staying power.  Plus, it actually improves your skin overtime.  I also use there eyeshadows and lip glosses and plumpers.  I've used mac eyeshadows and I really love them too.  Sephora eyeliner and mascara.

  • Now that I see some of you use clinique - I'm allergic to it and those women SWEAR that it's hypoallergenic.  Ok, that may be true but my skin has an allergic reaction to it.  They never believe me.  Cracks me up.

  • Moisturizer/Foundation/Powder: Clinique...been using it since I was a teenager and it's really the only thing that works for my skin...and like Lindsay I really like there 3 step cleansing system as well.

    Blush/Mascara: Maybelline

Eye Shadows/Lip gloss or lip stick: also Clinique but it's always the stuff I get in there bonus time gifts....I love Clinique bonus time :)

  • here are some recs on both the high and low end...

    mascara:  voluminous, diorshow

blush: NARS, benefit benetint and posietint, NYC, cover girl (just the plain blush in the old school container)

eyeliner: voluminous eyeliner markers (last all day), almay liquid liner

eyeshadow: benefit creme shadows, sephora powder shadows

powder: this one is funny for me, because chanel is the only powder I really love.  however, I got some NYC brand from target in an emergency situation, and I have to admit it works fine!  color is the main thing for me - I have a really hard time finding a color that works well for me besides the chanel.

ETA:  forgot lips.  for that I would recommend Carmex.  lol

  • I use Bare Minerals foundation and love it.  I even sleep in it!  I also love my mascara that I've worn for YEARS...Lancome Definicils in black.  I switch around blushes, but right now I'm using Bobby Brown and like it.  I have no recs for eyeshadows/liners/glosses b/c it seems like no matter what I get, it doesn't make it through the day.
  • Oops!  Forgot to add that I also love Lancome's concealor and this stuff called CARGO foundation/concealor in one...it's great for spots on your face or redness or whatever.
