both babies are doing great but my dr thought he saw some funneling with my cervix. the sonographer who works out of his office was in today so they were able to take me right away.
i got another detailed scan of the babies and growth wise they are doing awesome. the sonographer didn't see funnelling in my cervix, but it is shorter than what they would like at this point, it's 2cm.
so i was put on bed/couch rest. i have to go back in for another scan on tuesday and then will see my dr again on thursday. i will obviously do whatever needs to be done to keep the babies safe and cooking as long as possible but i can't believe i potentially may have to be on bedrest this early out. just was not prepared for that at all.
Re: xp: not such great news at my appt today
Ugh I'm so sorry to hear about your cervix - I hope modified rest keeps it in check so you don't have to go on full bedrest. Glad to hear the babies are doing well though!
Twin boys born too early at 17w4d and 18w2d in February 2010
Transabdominal cerclage placed September 2010
DS born at 35w1d in February 2011
Twin girls born at exactly 36w in February 2013
the dr discussed cerclage with me. he basically wants to see what happens with me off my feet for the next week before we make any decisions.
baby a is basically using my cervix as a trampoline right now so that doesn't really help. i told the dr i could feel some fluttering in the area, but nothing painful or no pressure. as soon as we had the more detailed scan it was pretty clear what i was feeling.
Sorry about your news. I also had a short cervix, but not until a month after you (20 weeks). Bedrest REALLY helped so totally milk it and take it VERY seriously. Not only did it work for me, at one appointment it got BIGGER! It stabilized at 2 for months, and I hope that's the case for you. But don't lift anything, don't climb a lot of stairs, al that jazz. I really feel like mandatory laziness saved my cervix!
?
I hope your little ones stopping using you as a trampoline and that your next appointment is a positive one!?
