Can you change your baby's position?

Just wondering because she's KILLIN me right now.

I'm totally going to be TMI right now, but her head must be near my cooley cause I keep feeling lumps and thumps back there.

And I've had a foot sticking out from above my right hip for 4 days now.

How can I get this kid to roll over - she kicks the crap out of me all day, but never changes positions!

Re: Can you change your baby's position?

  • When my friend was trying to get her baby to go head down, she did a lot of research and some said doing flips in a pool, or taking a flashlight to your belly and guiding the flashlight from where the baby is to where you want it to be, because sometimes they go towards light....and the other thing she tried which cracked me up...was her husband talked through a paper towel roll on her belly...He put the roll where he wanted the baby to turn too..lol..

Anyway, these are just probably myths, but all innocent and certainly worth a try....GL girl!!

  • At this point, definitely worth a try!

Peter tried putting music down at the bottom of my belly so she would flip over at least, but it didn't work.

FYI: I have an empty paper towel roll in my kitchen right now! YES!

  • haha..I hope one of those tricks work for you!!!
  • A coworker of mine is about as far along as you...she said she did prenatal yoga this weekend and couldn't believe the relief from the position switch afterwards. Obviously that's not a fast fix at all, but maybe you could look into a class?

  • try putting something warm where you want her to move to and then put something cold on where she is. i read that in the heir to blair blog last year.

  • There are a lot of things that you can do to change the position.  Stand on your hands in the pool, crawl on the floor, or take a flashlight and move it downwards towards where you want the baby to go.  A prenatal chiropracter can adjust you to the correct position to make it easier to move the baby.  A chiropracter can also help with the pain.  If you are properly aligned, then your labor will be quicker and easier.  Good luck!
