My ONLY friend left in the area with a baby is moving to Mass in the next 2 months. All my other friends are either single & childless or have older kids 2+yrs old.

I'm so sad right now. All of my friends are gone :-( (even the single and childless ones don't live nearby!)

We'll never move out of this area. DH works for his dad's company which is rooted in Westchester and Manhattan. I love this area anyway so I don't mind staying... just wish everyone else wasn't bailing out!

i don't think your friends babies have to be the same age, my best friends baby is going to be 3 a week before DD turns 1. and we have plenty in common, we are both moms and I am always happy with her advice. but, if you don;t see things this way you could always join a mommy and me class in your area or something and meet new mommy's

Oh I completely agree, but it's nice to have ONE friend who is going through everything with you, ya know? Also, my friend with older kids is the only one of her kind anyway. LOL (with any kids at all!)

We haven't really made any married friends or friends with kids at this duty station. We have made a lot of acquaintances. The only friends we really have are two single guys who work with DH and one of the guy's ex-girlfriend. Granted they all do adore our DS, but it isn't quite like having friends with children DS's age. So we stay home a lot.
