Born Free Bottles/Training Cups

Hi All,

I am expecting my second baby any day now, and already have a 3.5 year old.  I had purchased Born Free training cups when my son was learning to drink and was curious if I could use them as bottles now.  Does anyone know if the Born Free bottle nipples work in the training cups and if there is a difference in the bottle bases versus training cup bases?

I've already purchases some bottles (we decided to go with Think Baby this time) but figured extra bottles are always a plus.

Thanks!

Re: Born Free Bottles/Training Cups

  • I believe they are supposed to be interchangeable. My born free trainer sucks. It leaks all the time.

  • I love my born free bottles! (Or, I should say Alex loves them!)

The bottles have a venting "system" (two extra parts that attach to the bottle before you put the nipple/ring on), and the one sippy cup that I have of that brand doesn't have the venting system.

I would think the nipple wouldn't fit or work properly in the sippy cup, but I really have no clue.

  • I would make sure the parts from 3.5 years ago are BPA free

I totally agree with this as well!

  • Our cups worked well as a training cup (no leaks) and we bought them about two years ago when they were one of the only BPA free products on the market, so I'd love to be able to use them again.  Maybe I'll call customer service and check on the venting system.  Thanks!

  • I do not know, but our Born Free sippy cups don't have ounce markings.  This would drive me insane.  That alone would have me upgrading (that is unless yours have markings).
