Re: Twin P&P holds 15 pounds per side *UPDATED*

  • Cool - that's what I understood, too.  My mom read the package insert when we set it up this weekend and she said 15 per side.

Email Message: Twin Pack & Play - my twins are due in 2 weeks and I just read that my new P&P only holds up to 15 pounds in the bassinette part - is that true? Or is it 15 pounds per side? My babies are estimated to be almost 7 pounds - I can't imagine paying $200 for this pack and play only to learn that the bassinette will only hold them for a week or so. Please tell me I'm mistaken. Thanks

  • I hope everyone sees this. Yesterday a lot of people who were originally planning on getting the twin bassinet said they were no longer getting it (After someone told them the total weight limit was 15 lbs).
  • How long does one use these? My girls were over the 15lbs mark at 6 months. M was 17lbs 4oz and K was 16lbs even. Just went back and looked and M was over 15lbs at 4 months. just a FYIBig Smile

Oh, and I didnt buy one because the store worker told me it was 15lbs total.Confused

The 15 pound mark is only for the top part. I only plan on using the top for a few months until I transition to the crib, so that will be WAY before 6 months!! The plus is that it's a BIG pack and play, the bottom is more spacious!

  • My boys hit 15 lbs by about 3 months.

So ... yeah, Will gained 8.5 lbs the first 3 months of his life and has only gained 6 lbs since then! (Alex has gained 8 since then.)

?Wow - that's a GREAT gain!!! I hope my guys can pull that off! Angie took FOREVER to gain!

I think 3 months sounds like a good plan for keeping them in the P&P in my room. Then to their own cribs they go!!

Sorry, but I want to make sure I understand.  I was one of the ones that decided not to get it b/c of the weight limit.  You said the "15 pound mark is only for the top part."  By the top part, I assume you mean the bassinet portion?  If so, that's why I wasn't going to get it.  If the bassinet portion can only support 15 lbs total, by the time my girls are 8 lbs each, they're over the weight limit on top.  That's what the poster from awhile back notified everyone about.  If the bassinet portion can support 15 lbs on each side (30 lbs total) than that is different than what I understood.  Thanks!
