I know I am super early on this and I can't start looking yet. But I am a planner and am wondering when do you start looking for a Nanny? We have an in-home provider for DD now that we love, so I don't want to change until we have to (when the new LOs get here).
This is so hard because I don't know exactly when you will need one (since the delivery date is so unknown.) Any advise?
Re: When do you start looking for a Nanny?
your dd is adorable!
i hired my nanny about a month before i went back to work. she came a couple afternoons a week until i went back to work pt. this gave us a chance to get to know each other, and for me to "train" her on how to take care of the babies. i am so glad we did this. as for looking, i think it was about 2 wks before hiring her... we did several phone interviews and had a couple people come to our house, but when we met our nanny, we just knew.
I would look while on maternity leave. I think you might have a better sense then as to what you need and what's really involved in caring for the twins (and you can watch someone interact with them and evaluate that).
I found my nanny 6 weeks before I went back from maternity leave. We interviewed a TON of nannies but I knew she was the one for us when she walked in the door. I think I'll be even quicker in terms of finding the right fit when I interview this time, having had someone great work with us for so long.
Ugh that stresses me out. How will I know if I can afford it if I wait that long?
I like to plan way to much. Thanks for the suggestions.
