  • ew YES! iT is sooooo contagious! Wash your hands a bunch!
  • very contagious which is why kids can't go to school with pink eye. Make sure you wash your hands a bunch and don't touch your face.

It's very contagious if they touch their eye and then touch a common item (like a phone, copier, or fax machine, etc)  If they aren't touching their eyes or are washing their hands immediately after touching their eyes, it's OK.

  • thanks..I'm sending him home.

  • If she is not being treated for then yes she most definately should go home.

If she has been on the eye drops for 48 hours then she is ok to stay at work, DH has gotten pink eye a bunch of times (he works for the public schools) it is protocol to take off two days of work once he starts the eye drops before he can return.  Then he has to get a note from the doctor.

  • I think so....pink eye is so contagious.
  • I am totally on my own here but I say no.  I can see sending kids home because they do not always wash their hands well and are not careful about touching their eyes. I have had pink eye before and went to work. I was very careful about not touching my face and frequently washing my hands. It never even spread to my other eye.  I say no.

This. DH and I both had it recently and I continued to go to work and to my knowledge no one in my office caught it. DH got sent home one day (but worked the others). We don't have the kind of jobs we can just stay home from, the clients will still call and need us and we need access to the conveniences at work like laser printers/scanners/secretaries, etc. No way in hell I'd waste a day missing work on me being sick, I'm saving them for when Toodle needs me.
