Large volume of amniotic fluid

I had a doctors appointment yesterday to check on the size of the baby. They found that I have a large amount of amniotic fluid so in two weeks I'll begin going to the doc every week and also have another u/s. Anyone else experience this? I'm a little concerned now.

    personally no.  my bff had it due to GD.  the baby was fine however, the baby did have extra fluid and therefore extra room to move around in her uterus through week 38 which resulted in my friend having a c-section.  my sil also had extra fluid and they found that my nephew's intestine had a blockage.  i'm probably more neurotic than most and i'd request an ultrasound this week; it's not good for you to be upset for two weeks. good luck

    How did they know how much amniotic fluid you had? Did you have any kind of symptons?

    I'm not sure how much fluid there is. No other symptoms which is good. Baby seems good.

    I had this around 30 weeks and they were worried I could be borderline diabetic because of all the extra fluid.  I passed my 3hr glucose test though (barely).  I did a follow up u/s about 4 weeks later and the fluid levels had returned into normal territory.  Good luck!
