Questions from a mom soon to have a 1 year old.

I am sure these have been as a million times but I did a search and it would not work so if you had advice or suggestion I would really love to hear them.

1- When did you go from giving formula/BM in a bottle to in a sippy?

2- What sippy works best for this?

3- When did you stop formula/BM all together?

4- What type of milk is your LO on now?

5-When and how did you start the transition to milk?

    Milk Questions: 

    1- When did you go from giving formula/BM in a bottle to in a sippy?

    Started the process at 6 mo. Went solely to sippies around 12 months.

    2- What sippy works best for this?

    DD now only uses the Playtex Insulated Click and Lock. We tried so many. If you really haven't used the sippy cup, I would start with something a little softer. We used the Nuby and it worked well, but it leaked whenever DD would shake the sippy.

    3- When did you stop formula/BM all together?

    12 mo. 3 days

    4- What type of milk is your LO on now?

    Whole Milk

    5-When and how did you start the transition to milk?

    Just gave the milk one day and she didn't mind it, so we kept giving it to her.

    6- How much milk does your Lo drink a day?

    Roughly 24 oz daily

    7-How old is your LO now?

    14 mo.

    Milk Questions: 

    1- When did you go from giving formula/BM in a bottle to in a sippy?  We BF and didn't use bottles all that much, but started using whole milk in a sippy at 1 year.

    2- What sippy works best for this?  Try different kinds.  I like the Playtex sippys with little handles on the side.  Anything with a soft spout.  The Avent ones leak all over the place for me.

    3- When did you stop formula/BM all together?  Stopped BF at 15 mo.

    4- What type of milk is your LO on now?  Whole

    5-When and how did you start the transition to milk?  1 year.  Just gave him some in a sippy.  He was doing well with a sippy and water for a little while.

    6- How much milk does your Lo drink a day?  2-3 sippys

    7-How old is your LO now?  almost 21 months

    1- When did you go from giving formula/BM in a bottle to in a sippy? around 10 Mos I started giving her nap bottle in the cuppies and finally switched the night bottle to cuppie by 12 mos.

    2- What sippy works best for this? Start out with Nuki softer ones and then after buying every cup made... she ended up liking the Take n Toss ones. 

    3- When did you stop formula/BM all together? 12mos

    4- What type of milk is your LO on now? We live near a creamery and we use their organic whole milk and yogurts.

    5-When and how did you start the transition to milk? 12mos cold turkey... just switched it and she took about 3 days to adjust.

    6- How much milk does your Lo drink a day?  I refuse to stop rocking and giving her a cuppie before each nap... so 2 cups before naps and 1 before bed. Around 20 ounces a day.

    7-How old is your LO now? 15mos

    1- When did you go from giving formula/BM in a bottle to in a sippy?  We bf so he didn't get a bottle very often.  At one year I packed away the bottles

    2- What sippy works best for this?  I like the nuby sippy cups

    3- When did you stop formula/BM all together?  I started weaning at 1 year.  We still nurse 2x a day

    4- What type of milk is your LO on now?  Whole milk

    5-When and how did you start the transition to milk?  At 1 year I started weaning.  He was nursing 4x a day and on his birthday we dropped down to 3x.  At 4x a day he was nursing at 7am, 11am, 3pm, 7pm.  When we went down to 3x he nursed at 7am, 1pm, 7pm.  I would give him some milk during the day when he seemed thirsty.  I was going to drop to 2x in a week but we were so busy at his birthday party (which was a few days after his birthday) that he didn't get to nurse in the afternoon so we went down to 2 then. 

    6- How much milk does your Lo drink a day?  He probably drinks 10+ ounces a day - plus nurses 2x.  The pedi said when he's completely weaned he should be drinking 8-16 oz of milk a day.

    7-How old is your LO now?  He's 13 months

    Milk Questions: 

    1- When did you go from giving formula/BM in a bottle to in a sippy? At 9 months, DD decided she was through with the bottle.

    2- What sippy works best for this? She likes the playtex 1st sippster cup

    3- When did you stop formula/BM all together?   Still nursing twice a day

    4- What type of milk is your LO on now? BM (morning and evening) WCM the rest of the day.

    5-When and how did you start the transition to milk? At 12 months at daycare- mixed a small amount of WCM with BM.  Overtime, I increased the amount of WCM and decreased the amount of BM.

    6- How much milk does your Lo drink a day? I'd say about 16 oz.

    7-How old is your LO now? 21 months

    2- What sippy works best for this? we like playtex

    3- When did you stop formula/BM all together? Just after his first birthday. Maybe two weeks after

    4- What type of milk is your LO on now? whole milk

    5-When and how did you start the transition to milk? At one year with a bottle a day and then two and now 3 or 4 a day

    6- How much milk does your Lo drink a day? 24-32 oz a day

    7-How old is your LO now? 13 months

    2- What sippy works best for this?  We're using Playtex sippys, but it depends what your child likes.

    3- When did you stop formula/BM all together? After our 12 month appt.  I used up the last container of formula mixed with milk.  Once the formula was gone, we went to straight milk.

    4- What type of milk is your LO on now?  Whole cow's milk.

    5-When and how did you start the transition to milk? See #3.

    6- How much milk does your Lo drink a day? 18 oz.  Pedi advised no more than 24 oz of milk a day.  DS drinks about 1 sippy of water with each meal and some in between meals.

    7-How old is your LO now?

    1- When did you go from giving formula/BM in a bottle to in a sippy? We still use a bottle because she just drinks from it a lot better and I am not too concerned about ditching the bottle yet.

    2- What sippy works best for this? We give DD water in a sippy cup and we have one of the advent ones with the white mouth piece and handles and then the one she likes the best is those ones from BRU with the kids names on them.

    3- When did you stop formula/BM all together? We have about two scoops left, which will finish tonight in her night time bottle.  Other than that she is basically on just milk now.  I didn't want to buy another can, so we started transitioning about 2 weeks ago and slowly introduced it.

    4- What type of milk is your LO on now? Whole milk

    5-When and how did you start the transition to milk? We started at 11.5 months and started off with adding 2 oz to her formula and then slowly increased the amount of milk and decreased the formula.  We also gave her some pure milk bottles during teh day.

    6- How much milk does your Lo drink a day? Right now she is at 24 oz.  Next week we are going to drop one of the daytime bottles and then she will be down to 18 oz a day.  Our pedi recommended 16oz a day.

    7-How old is your LO now? 1 year and 2 days.
