Cute maternity clothes, where are you?

I see cute shirts and pants all the time but I am clueless on how to find them. I'm only 19 so the whole looking like a 30 year old mom isn't doing it for me. I love style, but it seems like everywhere I look, I can't find a plain tee shirt without paying over $50. I like it simple, no words or designs, no fancy belts and tight neck lines. Does anyone know where I can find them? I don't want to look old, but wearing my boyfriend's shirts and sweats only go so far lol

Plus I'm new on here, so hi! :) I'm 5 weeks and 5 days prego, and my flat abs are already showing a baby bump. I love not having to suck in anymore! :D

Re: Cute maternity clothes, where are you?

  • I got most of my clothes from Gap. There is a maternity section in the Hillsboro Baby Gap that also has a pretty decent clearance section. Not sure if Eugene has them as an option or not. And maybe Target? Some of my stuff isn't maternity, just long shirts, which you can find almost anywhere. Good luck!

  • I have had really good luck at both Gap and Old Navy.  When I first needed maternity clothes, I got a ton of stuff at Kohl's, although that is more "work wear" and it sounds like you want casual clothes.

You might try some consignment stores too.

  • Well, I'm 27, so do I look like a "30 year old Mom" that you don't want fashion advice from? In that case, ignore the rest of my post!

I shopped at Target, Motherhood Maternity, Gap, Old Navy.  I would look in the clearance shops online and was able to get shirts for like $10 each, a jacket for $15, etc.  I don't know what your budget is, but Japanese Weekend has some cute stuff, they sell at Nordstom.com

I actually bought a lot of baggy tunic-type shirts at Forever 21, and the F21 shirts fit me up until I had my baby.

Congrats on your pregnancy, by the way!

  • I shop a ton at Ross for my maternity clothing. Its very hit or miss! Fortunately we have a bunch of Ross stores around here. I have some super cute skinny jeans that I bought for $8! For tops I agree with Jen, Forever 21 has some cute longer styles that can easily pass for maternity. Also check out Old Navy and Gap's sales.

Don't spend too much right now and make sure the tops are extra extra long because you'll be shocked by how much your tummy will grow especially if you have a flat tummy right now. Those bella band type things are awesome and will keep you in "non" maternity tops much longer. Check ebay or etsy to save money on them.

I'd splurge on some gap jeans w/ out the spandex as they don't fall down nearly as much as those with spandex.

The Motherhood Maternity store at the Troutdale Outlet was my favorite place to buy maternity clothing during my first pregnancy. I like that one much better than the other outlet locations as it seemed larger and had a better selection.

  • If you're on the smaller side to begin with you have a lot more options.  I'm petite in frame and still wearing pre-pregnancy jeans with a BellaBand and instead of shopping maternity I looked for tops/dresses that had empire waists or tunics to pair with leggings.

I went from shopping the junior section in target to the "ladies" section and most of those shirts still fit me (I'm 35 weeks today).  Also Kohl's, Forever21 have lots of options.  Congratulations and GL!

  • I was OBSESSED with Gap maternity while I was pregnant!  I was teeny before I got pg too, and their stuff grew with me, without looking frumpy.  Also, buy in store, they put things on clearance much sooner and it is cheaper than online for some reason.  They also do half off clearance in store only from time to time.
