First, I want to apologize if this post is out of line since I am not a premie Mom. I think you are all amazying with the things you have gone through with your little ones and I can't even imagine the struggles you have had. If this is an inappropriate post please let me know and I will delete it ASAP.
I have been having issues with pre term labor for 2 weeks, now at 33.5 weeks. They've been able to stop the labor and given me the steroid injections for the baby's lungs, but they said once I reach 34 weeks this weekend they won't give me anything to stop things anymore. It seems really early to me so I just wanted to reach out and see if I could hear any experiences of moms that had their little ones around 34 weeks to find out what I can expect... the doctor's really can't give me much because anything can really happen at this point.
Thanks again in advance to anyone who reads/responds
Re: Question for Premie Moms/What to expect
No need to apologize! You will find that the ladies over here could care less about "flaming" posts, or any of the other bs you will find on the tri boards!
It's great that you got the steroid injections! I don't have a 34 weeker, but I do want to recommend doing a NICU tour, if thats possible. I tell every soon to be preemie mom this, because it is something I wish I had been able to do. GL! You have done a great job keeping your baby in there so far! (HUGS!!!)
my daughter was a 27 weeker- like night and day from a 34-35 weeker! so don't worry, most of what we went through won't even be a concern for your lo. i went into the hospital at about 26 weeks, and they had the neos come in every week and talk about risks/problems for that age gestation- it changes so much day by day.
but, you're welcome to check out my blog for general nicu information, suggestions, definitions etc.
hoping you get to be really fat and uncomfortable at a full 40 weeks!
