I can have 30-45 carbs for lunch. Yesterday, I had a premade PB&J on wheat that I bought from a little place on campus because I didn't have a chance to pack something. It put me just a touch over @ 122. I think there was not enough peanut butter on there so I didn't get enough protein plus it had regular jelly. Bad choice!
So today I thought I would not have quite as many carbs. I brought a package of oatmeal and had 2 pieces of patty sausage with it. My blood sugar was 86. That's the lowest it's been yet.
My question is this. I'm supposed to have 30 carbs for breakfast. With such good readings from the oatmeal and sausage would it be worth a try to see if that worked for breakfast? There are 33 carbs in the oatmeal so that's just a tad over my limit.
Thanks!
ETA: I'm sure there is other oatmeal I could buy that has less carbs, we just happen to have a gazillion packs of the kind I had for lunch. ![]()
Re: GD ladies - WDYT???
If 33 g of carbs gives you such a great reading I would go for it for breakfast. You are barely over the suggested amount and more importantly, your body seems to cope with it.
It is after all not an exact science. My allocated amount of carbs for breakfast was way more than I could handle not matter what combo of food I tried. Lunch and dinner were no problem.
