I've been sick with a cold since Friday. And everyday I feel worse. I just passed it to DH and now he's in bed sick. But at least he can take meds. My book says I can only take Tylenol and no teas. But I feel so crappy and to top it off I have an ear ache that is seriously about to bring me to tears. It hurts so friggen much. The Tylenol isn't doing anything. I have a doc apt tomorrow so I'm trying to tough it out. Should I just give in and go to the doc??? The only thing is that I have to go to a clinic bc my medi cal hasn't gone thru yet. So should I go wait 4 hrs or wait until tmw? I keep telling myself that as long as I don't have a fever I'm fine. But do u ladies know of any other safe meds? Also a ? If I'm sick is the baby sick???

Re: Sick.... Help pretty pls
I think since you have no fever, if I was you I would probably wait till tomorrow's doctor's appointment rather than risk having to wait 4 hours at the clinic - might just make you feel even worse and there might not be much they can do - you would probably have to talk to your own doctor about taking antibiotics anyways.
Also, I am not sure, but I think that as long as it is a cold and there is no fever, your baby is most likely perfectly fine and not feeling any of what you are going through. If it is not in your blood or if you don't have a fever, baby is likely happy as a clam even though you are miserable.
If you had just had a cold, I would say to tough it out but considering you mentioned ear pain, I would go to the clinic. I get horrible ear infections and nothing works to stop the pain, only being on antibiotics. It could just be ear pressure from your cold but when it comes to ears, I always want to play it safe by going to the dr.
What tea were you wanting to drink? I am drinking tea and was never told not too. Just watch your caffeine intake.
This exactly! All of these are on my "safe med list" from my OB.
Just make sure that if yo get Sudafed you take the regular one (there are lots of formulas out there) - the active ingredient you're looking for is Pseudopehedrine. They're the little red pills. They really helped me when I had a cold recently and was really congested.
Also, why can't you call your OB and ask them what you can/should take for your cold? They should be able to tell you that over the phone without a visit.
