NBR: Valentine's Day

I know this was posted yesterday/last night, but I wanted to see what you guys were doing for Valentine's Day. I have always told DH that I would prefer a single rose any given Wednesday over getting a bouquet of flowers on Valentine's Day. To me it means more. So we have always downplayed Valentine's Day.

This year, we will be in Lafayette for the baby showers (his family and mine are separate) on the Saturday. So I am going to try to get reservations at a great Cajun restaurant and surprise him.

Re: NBR: Valentine's Day

  • We have a gift card to a nice local restaurant we need to use anyway.  DH wants to go there for dinner.  But I'll be 11 days PP if I hold out until my induction, so I'll barely want to brush my teeth by that point.  So we're probably not doing anything.  And I'm totally cool with that.  I'm not really a holiday person in general.

  • We usually go shopping at a fancy gourmet grocery store and cook something fancy like Mussels Fra Diavlo, or Leg of Lamb.  We get drunk on wine, cook, and just enjoy eachother.  We are foodies/winos, so it works for us.  We never compete for a restaurant reservation, and it's fancier than normal :)

This year, our baby shower and his 30th BDay party are all that weekend, so I have a feeling we will not be going overboard with the food. :(  I would be happy if we just lounged on the couch, truthfully!

  • My DH and I have made a tradition of tomato soup and grilled cheese since one of us has always worked late on that day and I'm not big into the holiday anyways.  LO will only be a couple weeks old at that point(she bettter get moving!!) and I will most likely feel like pooo, so I am perfectly content with continuing this tradition!

  • Hopefully taking care of a newborn!

Seriously, though, we don't really do up V-day.  Maybe we'll get a card.  I usually make an effort to cook dinner so that we can sit at the table and get some uninterrupted 1 on 1 time.  That's about it.

  • Our EDD is Feb 11. Since it's my first, I don't expect to go early, so we may be in the hospital for Val's day this year.

  • Nothing, I'll be OOT on a business trip.  DH gets off easy this year:)

  • We don't really do Valentine's Day. I think I want to just order a pizza this year.

Dx: PCOS and short luteal phase
18 cycles (3 with our RE) - Metformin + Clomid + HCG booster did the trick!

  • I have no idea. DH and I have not DTD in a while so I think I get all cutesy for him that night. And I wouldn't be upset if LO got encouraged to make his debut. Otherwise, really nothing.

  • DH and I probably are just going to cook a nice dinner at home or maybe go out to eat. We don't really do much for Valentine's...plus we are trying to watch our pennies!!
  • We don't usually do anything on Valentine's Day. I might cook a nicer meal if I'm up to it, but that's about it. Oh, we are going to a BFing class that afternoon so that will be super romantic too. ;-P
  • We're going on a ski trip with MIL and her family and friends. So I might be hanging out at the lodge with hot chocolate and a good book. Maybe I can convince DH to go grab a hot cider with me for an hour or so to be away from the kids and the craziness of family =)

  • We don't celebrate Valentine's Day
  • It looks like DH has to work, so i will be going to one of our child birth classes with my mom. (Figures he works the one where they show the video)
  • I need to think about this because its also DH's birthday.  Last year he was at the Daytona 500 while I had bronchitis for 2 weeks and this year I'm pregnant.

  • We usually stay home and try some crazy recipe together.  The night before is my birthday, so these two holidays can put a lot of pressure on a husband ;)  I really want to do something in the city this year - a play or anything, but we just are so stuck for time.  I can tell the idea of getting tickets and getting out of the house at that point kind of stressed him out when I brought it up.
  • Watching the Daytona 500!

  • If all goes as planned, we'll be in L&D.... either way, I'll be watching the Daytona 500.

  • My DH is not very much into the "Hallmark Holidays" as he calls them....  as Baby V is arriving Feb 9th and I will be in the hospital until the 12th... well probably it will be a card and maybe flowers.  We'll see.  Usually I am the one who goes all out for these kind of days..... but obviously having just given birth, via c-section no less, don't think I will be going out of my way to do much of anything for him. In fact, had better get a card now!

  • We'll be taking care of a 5 day old so probably not a whole lot!  We don't typically do much for V-day anyway, usually just dinner out and some wine.  My family will be here so it won't exactly be romantic but I plan on partaking in a glass of wine (or two)!

  • If my EDD is right, I'll be having a baby! :)

This...usually we go out for a nice dinner at our favorite place, but this year I'm hoping DH will just get me some good takeout, whether we're at the hospital or home!

  • It's going to be my 30th birthday on Valentine's Day... I would like to do something really fun... but I'm on bedrest... so I think it will be chineese take out and as much chocolate cake as I want!
