Anyone not find out the genders?

I really don't want to find out. If we were having a singleton, DH and I agreed we would let it be a surprise but now that we are having twins, DH says we need to "be ready" with stuff, clothes, etc. I could care less about the genders except that it might influence whether I paint the nursery. My one concern is that with all the ultrasounds, it might slip out and I would prefer to find out at either the big u/s or birth.

I'm just wondering if anyone else feels/felt like I do about the whole issue.

We did not find out early, and I'm glad we waited. I loved the extra 18 weeks of anticipation and suspense. The ultrasound techs were always very careful to ask whether we wanted to know the sexes.

it's funny, though, i look at my hospital records now, and the u/s tech had one of the babies marked as female during one u/s. oops! hee hee!

We're not finding out what our twins are. It's hard.. but honestly it's one of the last great surprises in life. I get that no matter when you find out, you'd be surprised.. we just decided not to. I don't really care about gender specific clothing since I know we'll get more of that after they're born. It is difficult though deciding what to do with the nursery and the comforter, but we don't really need those right away since we won't be putting them in their nursery for the first month or so and it's not like I'll be putting this huge comforter on them when they're newborns. We'll just paint the nursery a neutral color prior to their birth and decorate with a few pictures, names when we find out after they're born.

I need to update my ticker! I had 2 girls on 1/13. We also did not find out the sexes until they were delivered. It was an amazing experience, and I would do it the same way again!

I agree. I have always wanted to wait until the baby is born to find out the gender. When I found out we are having twins, I wavered (especially because my husband has always wanted to find out beforehand). But, after thinking about it some more and hearing from the ladies on this board, we are going to wait until delivery.

We are doing a gender-neutral nursery. We probably won't have that many clothes for the babies before they are born. And it will be nice to have a surprise at the end of the delivery.

I think the only downside to not finding out the genders is trying to think of four names!!

We are still trying to decide this very thing. I was set on not finding out, and my hubby was fine with that... but when my husband and I found out that we were having twins, he changed his mind! Everyone else wants us to find out too, so they can buy us stuff.. but part of me wants to wait sooo bad!

We just painted the nursery a light brown this weekend, so that is still okay. I have boys names set in stone... but can't seem to come up with enough girls names I like.

The worst thing is, that if you choose to find out, it's never 100%! Good luck and let us all know what you decide!

Hey girl! We didn't find out either and it was the best! I just kept telling the U/S techs not to tell us. BEST FEELING IN THE WORLD not finding out until my c/s!

We were Team Green and it was the best decision ever!!!! The biggest and best surprise is when they announce the genders at their birth, it is amazing! I will never forget that feeling! I had to have a c-section b/c of a complete placenta previa and I wasn't scared at all- I was SOOOOO excitied to learn what they were!

Then they announced, "Baby A's out, It's a GIRL! Baby B's out, It's a BOY!!!" Ohh, the best ever. Plus it is more exciting to tell friends and family after they are born.

You can be ready with clothes and stuff without knowing the genders. Just get a few gender neutral stuff. Plus you will get so many clothes as gifts after they are born and you can buy that stuff later, too.

Wait to find out, you won't regret it!

I agree with everything the other posters said - we didn't find out and it was well worth it...I would do it again in a second...that moment when they held the babies up and DH announced their genders...priceless....plus it gives you something to look forward to those last few uncomfortable weeks...

All this makes me not want to find out the genders. We always thought we would not find out, but then when we found out it was twins, started changing our minds. At this point, I've left it up to my husband, and he's still deciding.

I love to plan, organize, and shop.... so I found out the genders at 17 weeks. I admire those of you who have the strength to wait and be surprised at the birth! I could never to that!

Just remember, either way it's a surprise...If you find out now or if you find out in the delivery room. I just feel like the day I give birth will be so overwhelming and emotional as it is.

I don't really get why people say "don't you want to be surprised?"

Uhm, we WERE surprised, it just happened to be a bit sooner (at 16 weeks) :P

I didn't feel like finding out that soon took away from the 'magic' and the gift of their actual birth. Besides, these things are never 100% accurate anyway, so it's not like we were certain that we would have a boy and a girl.

Besides, we were much too curious to be able to wait.

Just my 2 cents.
