trying for 3.5 years and no luck. ALL ADVICE WELCOME!!! Please

Hi all. My name is Tina.  I am 22 years old and my husband and I have been ttc for 3.5 years now with no luck.  Have been checked to make sure all was fine to get preggo...and still nothing.  We have tried LITERALLY everything.  Every position every day every other day every third day, with a pillow, without, not going to the bathroom for 10-30 min afterwords, chlomid and still nothing.  I mean...really were running out of idea's.  Someone please help me out with some useful advice.  I have visited every website about ttc, help ttc, tttc, and everything in between.  We really want to be blessed with a  beautiful little one. Thanks for the advice <3

next time you go to the doc, have them look at your uterus. We've been trying for 2 years and just found out the reason we haven't gotten preggo is b/c my uterus is deformed. They don't normally check it b/c there are no symptoms of anything wrong with your uterus. GL!!!

Well, if you haven't already, you might want to read Taking Charge of Your Fertility, and try charting to see if you are ovulating.  And you can buy ovulation tests to see when you really should be trying.  But if you know that you are ovulating, and you are trying at the right time, then I second going to an RE and getting both you and DH checked out.  Good luck!!

I havent seen the RE yet...am waiting for my insurance to kick in at my job again.  I have tried charting and the ovulation tests I have dont the BBT too...I do ovulate and we have tried two days before and after, and a day before and after...we have done it all.  It just gets super frustrating after so long.  I will definitely have to try and read that book.  At thie point we are looking for any advice we can.  We have not went and got checked out yet.  But a friend of mine said to have my DH go and get checked to make sure he is fertile as well.   Thank you all so much for the advice and luck

If you havent been seen by an OB/RE, who prescribed you clomid? And why? It will do you no good if your DH is the problem or your tubes are blocked. And why would you need clomid if you're ovulating?

There may also be a possibility your husband's count may be normal, but they may be too weak.  I have a friend who cannot get pregnant because of this situation, and another couple friend who's husband's sperm swam in the wrong direction.  The couple who's swam in the wrong direction resulted in them having to go through multiple rounds of invitro, and the other couples outlook is leaning towards that option as well.

    Tina,

You have received some very good information from many of the young ladies above who are trying to help ? so here is just one more opinion for you to ponder.

You stated that you are ovulating which means you probably don?t need clomid so I must agree with ?NurseMommy458" on this one. She also mentioned if your DH is the problem then I say he?s the one who needs some help first.

If both of you however, have been given the battery of test and were found to be able to conceive then you should be having no problem(s).  Then just read my private posting to you.   You might wish to get this information ? just for your own use.

Now you two have fun ? good luck in obtaining the pregnancy you want.

we had regular insurance a while back and went to a general doctor and asked about the pregnancy issu. i have went to this obgyn for one visit where my bff had went and did some info as well.  That is as far as the clomid.  I had been given the clomid even though I am ovulating, which I too did not quite understand.  I thought that was only for if you are NOT ovulating. But they said it would help to increase the chances.  I took it for 6 mo/ and th side effects were absolutely horrible.  Worst pains I have ever felt. I had heard about the 1st sperm issue but never about swimming the wrong way.  Hmm.  Yeah I am very anxiously awaiting the insurance to kick in again.  Is there anything specific I should be asking when I go to the dr?  I am kind of embarassed to talk about it when I go..I don't know if I am asking the right questions.

Again, thank you all for the advice.

I think the sperm analysis would be a good, less expensive place to start while you're waiting for your insurance to kick in.  You can get a script from a routine office visit with a family doc (prob 75-100 dollars) and the actual analysis for $100-150.

Here is some information about the private message link ? on the left side of the bump web page there are links to a multitude of information links:  finding one called community then under that all boards (with many links) then my blog; here is the one you want because under this one you?ll fine the one called see my blog link ? click on that one; it takes you to the listing then just scroll down your list of postings until you find one of the postings you have made for one which contains comments ? click on that link and read the comments you have received from someone ?   I hope this helps you to retrieve your personal messages that someone has sent you.  Emily Hmm

thank you so much.  A sperm analysis sounds like a good idea. We need to find out what's going on here.  We really want to be parents and it's just so frustrating having to be let down every month. ya know? thanks for the advice.

And Emily...thank you so much.  I figured it out. :)

You mentioned pain when on Clomid. Was your doctor doing ultrasounds on you to make sure that you weren't developing cysts? While Clomid makes ovulation stronger and so you may have more pain as a result, cysts are also a concern. It sounds like you need to see a good doctor, I'd start with an OB/GYN over a family pract., get the battery of tests done on both of you (blood work, semen analysis, HSG, etc.) and an RE referral if it comes to that. Those tests all should have been done before you spent 6 months on Clomid. To be blunt, it sounds like your previous doctor acted irresponsibly.
