Hi everyone,
We are looking for additional moderators to help us keep The Bump a fun
and supportive community. If anyone is interested in moderating this board, or any that do not yet have one, please send the questions below to
community@thebump.com with the name of the board you would like to
moderate in the subject line.
Thanks!
Anni

Re: Adoption Board Moderator
Didn't we decide recently that one was not necessary for this board?
Or is this now a requirement for every board?
We tend to self-moderate quite well.
I'll third the above. I can think of only two MUD/offensive posts in the entire two years I've been participating here. They were both reported and deleted relatively quickly with no problems.
It's not that I'm opposed to a mod, it's just that I wouldn't be thrilled with someone who doesn't ordinarily hang out here and who isn't interested in adoption to be installed as the mod of this board.
If no one volunteers, I'd also hate for anyone to be required to do that job, because this is a very emotional process, and people often take breaks from reading and/or posting here when things get to be too much.
Sorry, I completely forgot about that. I posted because one of the other mods had someone on this board reach out to them to remove a post.
Ditto this. This board is so laid-back. When was the request for a post to be removed? I come here daily, and I don't remember seeing anything since I started coming here (which was October, I think) that was controversial enough to be removed or that violated the TOS. It's a pretty friendly and relaxed board.
To clarify - the post to be removed wasn't an issue with tone but an issue with a computer gone haywire (mine, specifically). Not looking to cause issues but didn't want the 20 copies messing with the board and couldn't delete myself.
Ditto. It has happened to me, sent me into a panic, and then I realized I just had to wait.
Certainly not mod-worthy
LOL - that's why this adoption process is so difficult. I'm terrible at waiting for anything. Instant gratification and all that!
