All in one week.
This girl had a good resume, good references, and we liked her when we interviewed her so I had he come and stay the day with me.
I paid her for 5 hours that day and all she did was sit on my couch and watch platinum weddings.
I put the kids down every time, played with them, fed them, etc. I think she changed one diaper. At one point she had Preston on her lap facing the TV. I told her, stand him up on your lap and talk to him. He likes to stand and he will talk back to you.
She told me he likes looking at the TV...
You would think she would be on her best behavior when I am watching her. I can't imagine what it would be like when I am gone.
I tried to teach her how we do things but she wasn't interested. Didn't ask ANY questions - and I don't think she even knew which was which by the end of the day.
While she was there - I left her with Preston because I had a pedi appt for Landon. I put him to sleep before I left and asked her to remember what time he got up. When I got back, he had been up for an hour. She hadn't changed his diaper. I changed it after his prior nap.
He had been sitting in it for 4 hours.
Nice.
You're fired.
thankyouverymuch

I have huge trust issues with nannies and in-home daycare... stories like this just make it worse... thank God we have a great center that we love for our kids - I'd go nuts dealing with a-holes like that nanny!
good luck in your search!

Thanks. I couldn't believe it myself.
I have been asking around all day for references from people I know. We are going to visit a center tomorrow too. I didn't think this would be SO hard...
My co-worker has year old twin grandaughters, and just gave me a phone number for the girl who has helped them with the girls since they were born. She has experience with twins and they only have good things to say about her. I think I will have her come out on Monday to spend the day with me.
I hope she works out ::fingers crossed::
