Does your mother like your dh?

Mine likes him and has told me that she feels that he is a wonderful father and dh, but they are different, and she hasn't always felt the most comfortable around him. It makes me uncomfortable too, but the important thing is that he is cordial at least.

Eh, I think she finally gets it. She did not understand why we were together in the beginning, but I think she now knows that we are good for each other.

Yes, they get along well most of the time. DH likes a good debate though and my mom is a bit set in some of her opinions that aren't necessarily right and she is a bit of a gossip so once in a while he will start a debate with her and I don't think she really likes that but yes typically they get along fine. They joke around with each other as well.

Not as much as my dad. OMG they are BFFs, you can't get a word in edgewise when they're together. It's annoying (but good, I guess)!

My mom loves him. Which, is funny. She hated him before she met him. He was deployed for 8 mo. when we first started to date, so we had a long distance relationship. She figured he just wanted a pen pal..Hmm, 7 years later, he is a D@rn good pen pal!

For the most part she does. He fits in really well with our family and my dad and him are buddies. Sometimes he does things she questions but I think it's because she's never had a son before so isn't used to it.

Yes. They are buddies actually. When my mom found out her sister, my aunt had stage 4 cancer she couldn't wait for DH to get home. She know he'd be the best one to talk to & lean on. My mom lives with us so it's a good thing they get along. lol

Yes they have a really good relationship. They joke around and mess with each other and she spoils him like a son. She likes him a lot mainly because he is so laid back and goes with the flow (which is completely unlike my Dad hence the reason she loves my DH so much).

Yes, she loves him. He's a fireman and if he works on a Friday or Saturday, sometimes the next morning when he gets off shift he'll have to swing by her house to pick something up or drop something off.

She has breakfast for him and he'll hang out there for awhile before coming home

Sometimes she likes him more than she likes me!

yep, my mom treats him like one of her own.

all these crazy IL/parent posts are sad. i didn't realize how lucky i was to have everyone in my family genuinely love each other even if we don't always see eye to eye.
